L'autre jour, j'ai découvert le batteur JD Beck. Je l'ai découvert car j'écoute beaucoup Domi, une claviériste française de jazz très prometteuse, et ils ont monté un projet musical ensemble. Je suis à la fois fan de jazz et de breakcore, mais c'est la première fois que je découvre qu'il est possible d'allier une harmonie jazz moderne à un rythme de batterie effréné à la Venetian Snares. Cette découverte m'a beaucoup inspirée, et m'a fait comprendre qu'il n'y avait pas de règle prescriptive en musique qui devrait nous empêcher d'essayer d'allier les sonorités qui nous plaisent. J'en ai profité pour commencer un peu à faire monter l'intensité générale, en incorporant des éléments un peu plus metal.

The other day, I discovered drummer J.D. Beck. I discovered him because I listen a lot to Domi, a very promising French jazz keyboardist, and they have set up a musical project together. I'm a fan of both jazz and breakcore, but this is the first time I've discovered that it's possible to combine modern jazz harmony with a Venetian Snares-style drum rhythm. This discovery inspired me a lot, and made me understand that there is no prescriptive rule in music that should prevent us from trying to combine the sounds we like. I took the opportunity to start increasing the general intensity a bit, by incorporating elements that are a bit more metal.
